May 31 Oldies Concert & Graffiti Tribute

American Graffiti Tribute - Celebrate the 35th anniversary of the movie classic American Graffiti.

10am : All-day festival begins with the first of two showings of American Graffiti.

12pm - 2pm : A look back by members of the Faros car club. Exhibit of rare artifacts from our local "Graffiti" heritage and original items from the film. Speakers Candy Clark (Debbie Dunham from the movie) and Haskell Wexler (Academy Award-winning cinematographer and visual consultant for American Graffiti) will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.

2pm - 4pm : VIP Reception in the lobby of the State Theatre.

4pm - 6pm : Oldies Concert featuring songs from the Graffiti soundtrack performed by Frankie and The Fabletones, The Sensations, Carpediem and The Great Imposters.

6:30pm : Featured guest speaker, Peter Kramer, will discuss the impact of American Graffiti on film history.

7pm : Second showing of American Graffiti movie.

Admission to the tribute event is FREE, however, donations are welcome. Movie tickets $2.50. $1.00 off admission if dressed in period clothing.

June 6 - 8 PT Cruiserfest 2008
Presented by Valley PT Cruisers Club.
  • Friday night at the Ceres Drive-In with PT Cruisers, classic cars and an oldies movie.
  • Saturday 8am - 5pm & Sunday 8am - 1pm will be the car show with vendors, food music and more at the Fruit Yard - 7948 Yosemite Blvd.
  • 7pm Saturday night, downtown Modesto will be the Show & Glow, live bands including Simply So, dancing and food.

June 6-8 American Graffiti Car Show and Festival
  • Friday evening June 6th, downtown Modesto. Don't miss the parade of over 600 classic cars, hot rods, custom & vintage cars.
  • Saturday and Sunday, June 7 & 8, daytime - Classic Car Show and Festival. Enjoy the cars, arts, crafts, live entertainment, a beer garden and a wide variety of vendor booths at Modesto Junior College, East Campus.
  • Saturday Night Concert - Dance to the sounds of California Dreamin' and Bangin' 58's at the State Theatre. Tickets are $20. Tickets available at www.thestate.org or by calling (888) 746-9763

June 14 15th Annual Back to Graffiti at the Fruit Yard with the F-100 Elites

June 14 Modesto Blues Festival & Community Art Walk
Celebrate the Modesto Blues festival with concerts featuring Blue Haven and The Whisky Haulers, Mofo Party Band, DJ Slate & The Rocket 88, Rene Solis and the Guitar Extravaganza and Rythmn Deluxe, FREE admission, arts and craft vendors, food and drink Hot Rod and custom bike show at Graceada Park!

June 14 Rock-n-Roll on the Rails

June 19 Moband Concert in the Park
Enjoy the first concert of Moband's annual summer concerts in the park. Bring a picnic. This concert will feature favorites from American Bandstand. Admission is FREE! Come Jump n' Jive to the great sounds of Moband. Concert starts at 8pm at Graceada Park, get there early and enjoy.
June 20-22 Love, Janis

June 25 Riverbank's 3rd Annual Car Show
