June 1-2 Modesto Symphony Orchestra:” Beethoven Meets Graffiti”
  What better way to wrap up the MSO season than with a program inspired by Modesto, its people and our wonderful community. The first half of the program will feature three original works from three local composers commissioned to create musical expressions of Modesto’s annual ode to cars, Graffiti Festival. Complete with images and video of the 2017 classic car Festival, the pieces will also feature original choreography from Central West Ballet. The Classics Season concludes with Gustav Holst’s enormously influential and enduring masterpiece The Planets. 8:00pm both nights. Gallo Center, 1000 I Street. 209-338-2100 or www.galloarts.org.

June 2 American Graffiti (1973)
  Ready for root beer floats & dancing in the aisles to one of the best film soundtracks in history? Don your best duds from the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, or dress as your favorite character from American Graffiti, George Lucas’ consummate coming-of-age film, and join in the fun! June 3 13th Annual Graffiti Classic Car Show
  Modesto Area Street Rod Association’s 13th annual classic car show at the McHenry Village Shopping Center. Show time 9:00am to 3:00pm, DJ playing rockin’ oldies. Raffle drawings all day long, with special dignitary awards and over 50 trophy sponsor awards. Car entry fee $25.00 till May 30th, $30.00 after, includes lunch for two, free admission for spectators. A portion of all proceeds go to local charities. Early registration packet pick up on Saturday, June 2nd from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the McHenry Village back parking lot. June 4-7 Mid-Valley Chevy Club
  Car shows are free & at a different location each night from 5-8pm.

June 6 Historic Graffiti Cruise Route Presentation
  Starting at 6:30pm in the 10th Street Plaza, local celebrities will be inducted into the Historic Graffiti Walk of Fame. Followed with live music from the Third Party Band.

June 7 MoBand Concert in the Park: “Graffiti Night”
  The annual summer concerts in the park series. Spread out your blankets, bring a picnic and enjoy the sounds of MoBand. Admission is free and the concert begins at 8:00pm at Graceada Park, get there early and enjoy. Graceada Park, 401 Needham Ave. For more information visit www.moband.org.

June 8 Official North Modesto Kiwanis Classic Car Parade
  The parade will cruise through Downtown Modesto and go down McHenry Ave. to Briggsmore & back to downtown. The parade will feature thousands of classic cars, hot rods & street rods. 6:30pm in Downtown Modesto. You do not want to miss this amazing event! Registration includes parade & both days of the festival. Registration is $50 before May 28th & after is $60. To enter your classic car visit www.americangraffitifestival.com.

June 8 Downtown Cruise-In
  Immediately following the Classic Car parade June 8th, we invite you to join us in Downtown Modesto, 1010 10th Street to stay & ‘hang out’ on the Historic Graffiti Cruise Route! Musical entertainment includes a Buddy Holly tribute with live bands from 9:00pm - 11:00pm. Special parking for classic cars. For more information call 209-529-9303.

June 9-10 The American Graffiti™ Car Show & Festival
  This 20th Annual event is presented by the North Modesto Kiwanis. The car show & festival is Saturday June 9 from 9am to 5pm & Sunday June 10 from 9am to 3pm. Check out the classic cars, stroll through hundreds of specially selected food & vendor booths. Live music throughout the festival each day.

June 10 Graffiti Summer Concert: Frankie Avalon
  For members of a certain generation, there probably isn’t a time that Frankie Avalon was not a part of their lives. The former teen heartthrob’s career has spanned three generations in music, television and movies, including a string of gold record hits such as “Venus,” “Why” and “De De Dinah.” Those years have been succeeded by another career as one of the busiest theater and casino performers in the country. He tours six months out of every year, and how perfect that this year’s tour brings him to the Gallo Center for the annual Graffiti Summer concert! 3:00pm. Gallo Center, 1000 I Street. 209-338-2100.

June 16 Sing-a-Long Grease (1978)
  Dress up as your favorite character from the film & join Rydell High’s most famous graduating class for two hours of sing-a-long fun! There will be giveaways including combs, toothbrushes and more. Spend your “Summer Night” with the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies when they return to The State. Showtime 4 p.m.; doors at 3 p.m. Tickets $5. State Theatre, 1307 J Street. June 16 Modesto Nuts Graffiti Night
  Take me out to the ballgame to enjoy action packed baseball, classic cars, 50’s and 60’s music, root beer floats and fun contests. Modesto Nuts take on the Stockton Ports, Game time 7:05pm. June 16 25th Annual Back to Graffiti at the Fruit Yard
  Join us for the longest running classic car show in Modesto commemorating George Lucas’ American Graffiti Movie. The 25th Annual Back to Graffiti Classic Car Show featuring raffle prizes, music, vendors and more! Free to spectators. 9:00am.

June 16-24 Modesto Performing Arts: Grease
  At the heart of the story is the romance between hot-rodding gangster Danny Zuko and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski. The whole gang sings and dances around Danny and Sandy’s romance, through such hit songs as "Greased Lightnin'", "We Go Together”, and “Mooning”, recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. June 22-24 Jersey Boys, the Musical
  This is the true story of how four blue-collar kids became one of the greatest successes in pop music history. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were 30! “Jersey Boys” features their hit songs “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Rag Doll,” “Oh What a Night” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” Showtimes: 6/22 – 8:00pm, 6/23 – 2:00pm & 7:30pm, 6/24 – 2:00pm. June 23 Modesto Blues Festival
  Music 4:00pm -10:00pm, Outside and inside stages: Blues Box Bayou Band, Bill Clifton's Chicken Whiskey Band, Deja Blues (central blues society) & Voodoo Killer.

June 24 The 11th Annual Rod & Custom Car Show
  Classic cars & custom hot rods! Music, food & beverages available for purchase. Breakfast 7:00am-10:00am. Proceeds to benefit Modesto Elks. Free admission for spectators. Car show starts at 9:00am. Car participants parking is from 7:00-8:30am. Car registration $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show and includes lunch. Awards presented at 3:00pm. Elks Lodge, 645 Charity Way. 209-529-0366.
